COVID-19 graduates

It has been a month since our classes have been canceled or have been having our classes remotely. Most of my friends and classmates flew back to their home (other states, or other countries). This was unfortunate for us but, of course, very unfortunate to the people who were infected by the virus.

This entry would be about how I am looking forward for our graduation ceremony… but was canceled due to the pandemic crisis. We weren’t expecting this to happen, well no one was.

Supposedly, our university will be having the graduation ceremony at Yankee Stadium on May 20th and the capping and pinning for the nursing graduates on May 18th;  however, it was canceled due to coronavirus. I was and am disappointed but we have no control of the virus and the environment we have. We were told that despite the cancellation, the university will still hold something special for us and they will reschedule our ceremony some time during summer (hoping by that time the cases were less and the curve is already flattened).

2 weeks from now, I am done with the nursing school. A “BSN” would be put after of my last name. It’s a dream come true… from a 3-year-old’s wish to becoming an “RN” soon. I am excited to embark my nursing career and see the reality of the healthcare world.

I know in the current situation it’s a mess because of the crisis but I would be happy to help and be an advocate to the patients who are in dire need. It would be challenging but I will get through this…

So, in advance
