A Passion for Nursing

I am [my name], a passionate and upcoming nurse. I  seek admission in a lot of nursing institutions to pursue an accelerated Nursing program. I am confident in my academic aptitude, enviable research skills, and passion to excel in this program, and make a highly qualified nurse who is ready to serve, adapt to strict schedules and happily save lives no matter what it takes.

As a young girl, I was under confinement due to dengue fever. Nurses came to attend to me and their friendliness touched me in a special way. They were gentle, and calmly advised me against pricking my fingers and drawing blood from my antecubital. I fell in love with the nurses from there and I looked forward to every visit. I was certain that I wanted to be a nurse in future and I got a golden opportunity when one of them visited me after I had fully recovered. I asked her endless questions about this profession, and when she noted my genuine interest she disclosed how sweet it is to help people discard illnesses. I want to relieve people from suffering and pain. I still want to make people’s lives better by rendering healthcare services and helping them regain their health.

I am driven by passion and zeal. I am certain my passion for excellence, and my perfectionist personality will help me work extra-hard in my studies, indulge in research, take part in group discussions, launch relevant projects and strive towards academic excellence for both career purposes and future academic advancements. My zeal to be a medical nurse since childhood has instilled professional discipline in me and I am certain I will never betray the Nightingale Pledge but will rather uphold professional ethics, adapt to the tight schedule and help people restore their health fast.

Nursing is a noble course and will be on standby to cater for global healthcare needs. Currently, the world needs zealous nurses who are ready to give it up all and dexterously deal with the prevalent pandemics like Ebola, HIIV/Aids, cancer, malaria and natural disasters like earthquakes, which leave destruction in their wake, and hospitalize many. The world needs bold nurses who will readily risk their safety to save lives. I am one such gem and I will deliver services whenever I am called upon. I will go out of my way to deliver stellar services, and inspire colleagues to be outstanding in all that they take part in.

I am not a genius to say the least, however, all my academic excellence has been attributed to sheer hard work, commitment and employing of effective study and practice techniques. I did an Associate in Science from LaGuardia Community College where I majored in Biology and attained a GPA of xxx. I was conferred in June 2016 and thereafter joined Hunter College to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I made it to the deans list, attained a GPA of xxx and got conferred in December 2017. My future career goals entail administering care to patients. I want to derive joy from saving lives, helping people regain health and handling of pandemics. When I will be certain that I have amassed enough experience, I will then further my studies and become a Nursing tutor, where I will instruct, inspire and prepare trainee nurses so that they brace the medical world wary of the challenges, and ready to overcome.

I am banking on my research and analytical prowess to excel in this program. I will summon my zeal too and improvise my study techniques to not only ace my studies but also indulge in related research and equip myself with top-notch skills so that I prosper in the immediate nursing world, nationally and eventually on a global level. I will be part of group discussions where we can come up with good projects and continually hone our skills.

When I am free, I watch medical documentaries and success stories, read medical magazines and watch medical drama TV shows. I love singing too, playing my guitar and dancing. When my friends visit we play video games. I am a freelance writer too, writing articles, journals and blogposts. I have a strong interest in sciences, animals (both wild and domestic) and children. I love serving people and whenever we are in a gathering I always volunteer to do the serving of drinks, meals and snacks.
